Conventional Fire Alarm System
These types of systems are inexpensive and work well in small facilities.
A conventional fire alarm system will tell you in what zone a
device has activated, but you will have to go the physical
zone to identify the device in question.
A conventional system employs one or more initiating
circuits, connected to sensors (initiating devices)
wired in parallel. These sensors are devised to
decrease the circuits resistance when the
environmental influence on any sensor exceeds a
predetermined threshold. The control panel displays
a signal when these components activate.
Addressable Fire Alarm System
An addressable fire alarm is a commercial fire
alarm system that uses sophisticated technology
to detect and pinpoint a fire's exact location.
An addressable system will tell you the exact device
number and location.
Every device in an addressable system is connected
and communicates continuously with each other and
a central monitoring station which makes is suitable
for big facilities.
They are more expensive when
compared to the conventional alarm system.
